Southwestern Adventist University is a liberal arts university located in the city of Keene, in Johnson County, Texas, about an hour south of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. These are affiliated by using a Seventh-day Adventist Church. Southwestern is one of Eighteen colleges & universities within North America operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

History
Southwestern was based inside 1893, under a title Keene Industrial Academy. It became Southwestern Junior College around 1916, & once more changed its title to Southwestern Union College around 1963, around anticipation of bachelor-level classes, offered starting around 1967. Around 1977, a title once more changed to Southwestern Adventist College to reflect its affiliation by owning a Adventist Church. Withwithin 1987, it began offering graduate courses, & in 1996, changed its title to Southwestern Adventist University.

Accreditation
Southwestern is accredited per Commissiin on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools to award Associate, Bachelor's, & Master's degrees, & is too licenced by: a Council in Social Operate Education; a General Conference Accrediting Association of SDA Schools, Colleges, & Universities; a International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education; a Texas Education Professional; a Texas Board of Nurse Examiners; & a National League for Nursing.

Southwestern Adventist University
SWAU is part of the international Seventh-day Adventist educational system. The university offers a Masters of Education degree in elementary education, baccalaureate degrees in 28 fields, pre-professional preparation, and associate degrees in five major fields.
